Frequently asked questions
Common questions asked from runners, cyclists, swimmers and other athletes:
1. Can sports massage therapy help make me stronger and faster, and also increase my performance? Yes, sports massage can help in all these areas while making you more efficient in your training and competitions. A sports massage breaks down muscle adhesions and knots that build up as you train. With sports massage being a part of your training routine, you can train harder and excel to higher levels, performing better than you ever thought possible.
2. What are the benefits of Sports Massage? Sports massage therapy is geared towards athletes of every kind, from professionals to the weekend warrior. If your muscles are sore and you are full of aches and pains, a sports massage will reduce the amount of muscle contractions and ultimately allow your muscles to relax and recover. Some of the many benefits of Sports Massage are: Faster recovery from strenuous workouts, increased flexibility and range of motion, stretches tight muscles, helps prevent injuries, improves endurance, increases blood circulation, rehabilitation from injuries or chronic pain and prepares the body and mind for optimal performance.
3. How often should I get a sports massage? Ideally, we recommend massage therapy twice a week for an elite athlete or at a minimum, once a week. For the recreational athlete we would recommend once a week to once a month based on need and what you are training for.
Event & Corporate Massage:
Zone Conditioning will come to you at your business or sporting event.
Benefits of workplace massage:
Description of on-site massage service:
On-site massage does not require a private room and can be offered at the workstation, health fair, in a conference or work room and at events. The massage therapist may use a special chair, tabletop device or a chair. Selection is dependent upon the client's comfort and space available in the environment.
The length of a massage session is 10-15 minutes. During the massage, the recipient is seated and fully clothed. No oil is used. Therefore, no change in attire is necessary. The massage therapist uses techniques that focus on the upper part of the body – neck, head, shoulders, back, and arms or for sporting events the muscles most used for the sport.
How to initiate your on-site chair massage program:
We can provide you with options to incorporate massage into your workplace wellness program or athletic event. Consider an ongoing program to achieve long term results or our event package for special occasions or promotions.
